大きな木陰の下を形象化し、地域環境に包まれた様々な場をもつ広間空間。

地域から住まいへ
場所の潜在的魅力を引き出し、地域への眼差しから住空間をつくる。
自然界はすべてが関連している。例えば川原にある石一つにしても、形や大きさ、向き、種類は、水の動き、流域の地層、あるいは人間の開発行為などと様々な因果関係があり、単独でその場に存在しない。
敷地の場所を成り立たせている地勢、気候や生態、暮らしの営みを読み取りながら、空間を媒介にして、人と自然がどのような豊かな関係を 育んでいけるか、人が集え、元気になれる場所の形成を考える。
地域の木材、土、石、植物を建築空間に生かし、風景の連続性を創りながら、山や水、田園風景、大地との一体感を感じる場をつくっていく。身近な自然から地域環境を成り立たせる自然の持続性を大切にする。地域を基軸にした感性を育み、想像力を生み出す建築を目指したい。

Create living spaces by activating potential of location
Everything in Nature is interrelated. For example, even the shape, size, type and orientation of a stone on a riverbed is the result of movement of water, stratified formation of the drainage basin, surrounding human development activities, etc. Similarly, the topography, climate and ecosystem of a place suggests ways in which living spaces could mediate, enrich and promote the relationship between residents and Nature and how they could come together and rejuvenate themselves there.
Dwelling form and spaces suggested by Nature in the place, built by enhancing wood, clay, local stone and vegetation, hopes to create continuity with the rural scenery, mountains and water in the landscape, to evoke oneness of the place with the Earth. Everyday life here would cultivate an imagination that inculcates sensitivity to the region, born from the understanding that a person’s immediate natural environment sustains the larger natural context.
